Technical Designer, Print

Location: Hybrid
Job Type: Contract with opportunity for permanent role

The Role:

As a Technical Designer specializing in print, you will be responsible for translating creative design concepts into technically accurate and production-ready artwork for print materials. You will work closely with the design team and various stakeholders to ensure that the final print deliverables meet quality standards, brand guidelines, and industry best practices. Your expertise in print production processes, software tools, and attention to detail will be essential in producing high-quality print materials.

In This Role, You Will:

● Collaborate with the design team to understand creative concepts and develop technical specifications for print projects.
● Create technically accurate and production-ready artwork files for various print materials, including brochures, flyers, packaging, banners, and other marketing collateral.
● Ensure that artwork files adhere to brand guidelines, print standards, and industry best practices for color, resolution, typography, and file formats.
● Conduct pre-press checks and optimize artwork files for print production, including color separation, trapping, and imposition.
● Work closely with print vendors and suppliers to obtain print specifications, review proofs, and address any technical issues that may arise during the production process.
● Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as marketing, production, and procurement, to ensure timely delivery of print materials.
● Provide technical expertise and guidance to internal stakeholders regarding print-related queries, troubleshooting, and best practices.
● Maintain organized file management systems and documentation of print specifications, templates, and production processes.
● Collaborate with the design team to streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and implement best practices in print production.

What You Bring To The Table:

● Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in graphic design, visual communications, or a related field.
● Proven experience as a Technical Designer, Print or a similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing print design projects.
● Proficient in industry-standard design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), CorelDRAW, or similar tools.
● Solid understanding of print production processes, including color management, file formats, pre-press checks, and print specifications.
● Strong attention to detail, with the ability to review artwork files for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand guidelines.
● Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
● Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines.
● Creative problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing project requirements or technical constraints.

The Role:  

House of Noa is seeking a talented and creative Print Designer to join our design team. As a Print Designer, you will play a pivotal role in creating visually stunning and on-trend designs that will be used on various home accessories and decor items. Your designs will not only enhance the functionality of our products but also contribute to our brand's aesthetic vision.

In This Role, You Will:

● Create captivating and original print designs that align with House of Noa's brand identity and target market.
● Collaborate with the design team to conceptualize and develop design concepts for new products, collections, and seasonal launches.
● Stay up to date with current design and lifestyle trends, ensuring that House of Noa remains at the forefront of the industry.
● Conduct research and gather inspiration from various sources, such as fashion, art, and interior design, to inform and enrich your design concepts.
● Develop print patterns, motifs, and illustrations using both digital and traditional techniques.
● Prepare print-ready files with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accurate color representation and seamless integration with production processes.
● Collaborate closely with the product development team to ensure that the print designs are translated effectively onto different materials and substrates.
● Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive design environment.
● Maintain an organized and up-to-date archive of print designs and related assets for future reference and reusability.
● Keep abreast of emerging printing technologies and techniques to continually innovate and improve print design processes.

What You Bring To The Table:

● Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Textile Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
● 3-5 years of experience as a Print Designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing print design expertise.
● Proficiency in industry-standard design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or similar tools.
● Solid understanding of print design principles, color theory, and typography.
● Excellent visual and conceptual thinking skills, with a keen eye for detail.
● Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, while also being self-motivated and capable of working independently.
● Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.
● Knowledge of production processes and techniques related to printing on different materials and surfaces.
● Familiarity with trends in home decor and/or fashion is a must.
● Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present and articulate design concepts effectively.
