Top 5 Questions People Ask About Shark Tank

Have you ever laid in bed at night and wondered what you would do if you had zero limitations? If what you dreamed up in your mind could play out in real life?

For me, that was Shark Tank. Pitching in the tank was, and has been for years and years, my wildest dream.

My dream came true on Season 8, Episode 15 when I pitched to Mark, Damon, Kevin, Lori and Robert on ABC's Shark Tank.

In honor of our episode re-airing on ABC this Friday, June 23 at 9:00 PM ET / CT, I thought I would answer some of the most frequently asked questions I get asked about Shark Tank and share some of my experiences being on the show.

Were you nervous? There are no words! Having my baby with me, who was 14 months old at the time, added a special layer of unpredictability. She started fussing during my pitch so I ran over and picked her up.  Honestly, once she was in my arms, I was able to relax a little bit!

Who is your favorite Shark? All of the Shark's were so incredibly nice to me and so supportive. What I found to be most interesting was their ability to gain such a quick understanding of my business and provide golden nuggets of wisdom. The advice they gave me is invaluable and has continued to help me so much in my journey since.

Do you have any advice for other entrepreneurs who have a product idea? Read Lori Greiner's Book Invent It, Sell It, Bank It!: Make Your Million-Dollar Idea into a Reality. When I found out that I would have the chance to pitch in the tank I read all of the Shark's books. I wish I had read Lori's book sooner - there is so much valuable advice on product creation!

How has your business changed since appearing on Shark Tank? Nothing could have prepared us for the shark tank effect. We sold out of merchandise shortly after first airing and have been trying to keep up with the demand since! The outpour of love and support from other Moms has been incredible. We love hearing about how our product has transformed their child's play space and improved their sanity :)

Do you have any regrets? Only that I didn't run over and give each of the Sharks a huge hug and a handshake. They are and always will be a driving factor in my motivation - they remind me every Friday night that the American Dream is alive and well!  I sincerely look up to them for what they do and I continue to be impressed with their knowledge and ability to work with so many different business challenges.

I am so incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to pitch in the tank. Dreams don't always end the way we expect them to. But that usually means there's something else in store...

We just watched a rerun of shark tank with your product. While we played with our daughter on our little nomad mat. So glad you continued to make this and work hard on creating it. We love our mat and love that it blends in with our decor. Congratulations!
